Here are our favourite songs which were released in June 2025.
Every month, Magnus, our Head of Music Development, pulls together what he thinks are the most captivating and essential releases from that month for Startle Selects.
Our curators can then pick and choose from this playlist as they see fit, so that playlist updates for the brands who work with us are always up to date. It’s a win-win - we get to appreciate new music, and our clients soundtrack their sites with the freshest tunes.
Here are his favourite songs which were released in June 2025.
We spoke about Loaded Honey in May’s Startle Selects, so we’re very happy that their debut album Love Made Trees is finally out. Tokyo Rain is the latest single from Loaded Honey, the new project by Jungle collaborators Lydia Kitto and J Lloyd. The track blends soulful vocals, cinematic string elements, and a groovy bassline.
The song even has a one-shot music video, further emphasising the cinematic and raw feel of the tune.
We love the new album, and Tokyo Rain is definitely a stand-out. It’s a soulful, genre-bending single - think soft pop, mixed with dreamy funk.
Times Like These is the sixth single from Addison Rae’s debut studio album Addison, released June 6, 2025. It marks a stylistic shift into a more dreamy pop tone with lush production and introspective, emotionally honest lyricism.
Unsurprisingly, the song’s vibe nods to 1990s-2000s Madonna, All Saints, and early trip‑hop atmospheres. The song explores feelings of overwhelm and self‑doubt, reflecting on fame, youth, and identity crises - all very honest themes for Addison.
The song represents a very clear evolution in Addison’s artistry and is a standout moment on her debut album.
Supershy is the disco‑house alter‑ego of Tom Misch, making an exciting return after nearly two years with the release of Hypnotised on June 27, 2025. The single comes in both a 3:23 radio edit and a 6:39 extended mix, clocking in at 117 BPM in the key of B minor, blending soul, funk, and disco elements.
Tom Misch’s signature soulful vocals and groove are fused with Linden Jay’s funky production, mixed with trippy synths and punchy basslines that nod to disco‑house classics while retaining a contemporary edge.
Supershy emerged as Misch’s vehicle for exploring genre-fluid, electronic dance music. And Hypnotised might just be our favourite yet.
Hold On was released on June 13th, however the song was actually written over a decade ago. It was originally played in intimate club performances before making its way into the studio.
Bridges has called it a live staple since the beginning - “Hold On has been with me since day one” - and its release coincides with the 10th anniversary of his debut album Coming Home.
Blending soul, gentle gospel, and country-tinged folk, it is a minimalistic yet impactful song. The song taps into that classic, stripped-back soul reminiscent of his early work.
Hold On is a beautifully understated track, showcasing Bridges’ soulful voice and timeless songwriting. As a decade-old gem finally unveiled, it stands as a warm reminder of his roots and enduring artistry.
Originally appearing as the eighth track on Fender’s third studio album People Watching (released on 21 February 2025), Rein Me In was reimagined as a duet featuring Olivia Dean, with a brand-new verse she wrote for the recording .
The official duet version was released on 20 June 2025, accompanied by a music video that compiles footage from Sam’s sold‑out stadium shows in London and Newcastle.
The duet transforms the solo track into a dialogue, with Fender’s introspective, emotionally raw verses met by Dean’s tender, grounded response. The duet premiered live at Fender’s London Stadium show on 6 June 2025, where Dean joined him on stage.
We think June was one of the best months for music in 2025, so far. Let's see what July brings us!
